Inspiration; Yuken Teruya

August 15, 2012

I never thought I would feature loo paper rolls or anything with golden arches on my site…..

…but aren’t these incredible?

Yuken Teruya is an artist based in New York. He works with various materials such as toilet paper rolls, paper shopping bags and butterfly chrysalises. His ideas often reflect life and history of Okinawa, his homeland.

He has an amazing installation of little paper trees inside shopping bags downstairs at The Art Gallery of NSW as part of the Biennale of Sydney. If you haven’t been yet, go. It’s on until September 16.

I adored paper bag trees. Really amazing. Such attention to detail.
